Why are picnics so great when you have toddlers?
A picnic is a good way of making a day of a trip out. It’s a less-formal way of eating if you have little ones that don’t like sitting still for long in cafes. And it means you have food with you that you know they will eat.
Picnics are also cheaper than buying expensive food on-the-go. And they mean you can have your lunch whenever you feel like it. Which for some small children will probably be about an hour after breakfast!
We all know toddlers can be brilliant but can also be tricky at times, so follow our tips for a stress-free toddler picnic.
Here are our five tips for a stress-free family picnic with toddlers:
Pack Tasty Treats They Will Actually Want To Eat:
Stop hanger striking while you're out and about stock up on healthy food and snacks that even picky eaters will happily munch on.
Pick The Picnic Location Wisely:
Getting out of the house stops everyone from going stir crazy and means everyone has some fresh air, but make sure you pick a good location. Pick somewhere green with lots of space for everyone to run around safely. A playpark for after-picnic play is also ideal.
