Frequently Asked Questions
The main benefits of garlic supplements are that they may contribute to normal immune function, as well as the maintenance of normal heart health and normal cholesterol levels.
Allicin is a sulphur-containing compound that is primarily found in garlic, giving rise to garlic’s pungent taste and smell. It’s not present in large amounts in raw garlic but is produced when garlic is crushed or chopped.
Garlic supplements are a convenient way to get the benefits of garlic - including heart health and immune support - without some of the downsides of garlic, such as the smell and taste. This is particularly the case with odourless garlic tablets, such as Ultra Garlic, which have been deodorised for a reduced garlic taste.
There is no recommendation on how much garlic per day but Ultra Garlic contains 400mg of Garlic Extract which provides 7200µg of standardised Allicin.
There is no specific best time to take a garlic supplement.
