B vitamins are actually a group of eight vitamins that play different roles in the body. vitamin B2 (riboflavin) contributes to the normal metabolism of Iron, vitamin B3 (niacin) contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) contributes to normal mental performance, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity and vitamin B7 (biotin) contributes to the maintenance of normal hair.
The various B vitamins are abundant in a range of foods. Leafy greens, such as spinach, are a rich source of vitamin B9 (folic acid). Shellfish contain high amounts of vitamin B12 (cobalamin), as well as vitamin B2 (riboflavin). Legumes, such as chickpeas and lentils, are a good source of vitamin B9 (folic acid), as well as containing smaller amounts of vitamin B1 (thiamine), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B3 (niacin), vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Meat, such as beef, is rich in B vitamins, whilst eggs are an excellent source of vitamin B7 (biotin).

There are eight B Vitamins: vitamin B1 (thiamine), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B3 (niacin), vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin B7 (biotin), vitamin B9 (folic acid) and vitamin B12 (cobalamin).
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) is a water soluble vitamin, found in foods such as salmon, chicken, potatoes, avocados and carrots. It contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and normal red blood cell formation. Vitamin B6 also supports normal functioning of the immune and nervous systems, normal psychological function and the regulation of hormonal activity.
Vitamin B7 (Biotin) is one of the B Complex Vitamins and is found in eggs, fish, meat, nuts & seeds, and certain fruits (especially avocados) and vegetables (sweet potatoes are a good source). It is best-known for its contribution to the maintenance of normal skin and hair but it also plays a role in normal energy-yielding metabolism and the normal functioning of the nervous system, as well as normal psychological function.
Perfectil Original is a triple-active supplement for your skin, hair and nails, containing 20 micronutrients, including Biotin.

Vitamin B9 (Folate) is an important B Vitamin that is found in leafy greens, brussels sprouts and legumes. Folic Acid is a supplement that is converted into Folate in the body, where it contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy and has a role in the process of cell division.
The UK Department of Health recommends that all women who could get pregnant should take a daily supplement of 400 micrograms of Folic Acid before they're pregnant and during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
Pregnacare Conception delivers carefully-balanced micronutrients, including Folic Acid, to help prepare your body for pregnancy and support good reproductive health. Pregnacare Original provides expert nutrition, including 400µg Folic Acid and 10µg Vitamin D, to support you through all of pregnancy.
Folate also contributes to the normal function of the immune system, normal blood formation and normal psychological function.
Our Ultra Folic Acid combines 400µg Folic Acid with Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) which contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) is primarily found in animal foods, such as meat, fish, milk and eggs. B12 is one of the most common nutrient deficiencies found in those on a plant-based diet. Fortified foods, such as plant milks, some soy products and some breakfast cereals, are the primary food-sources in vegan diets.
Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) is an important, water-soluble vitamin, and one of the eight essential B Vitamins. It is mostly found in animal foods, including cheese, beef and salmon, and is added to certain fortified vegan foods.
Vitamin B12 contributes to many essential functions within the body, including the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, normal energy-yielding metabolism and normal red blood cell formation. Vitamin B12 also plays a role in the normal function of the immune and nervous systems, normal psychological function and the process of cell division.
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recommends a basic intake of 4μg per day is adequate, with higher levels recommended for pregnant (4.5 μg/day) and breastfeeding women (5 μg/day). Vitamin B12 can be safely taken at higher levels.
Our Ultra Vitamin B Complex provides all eight essential B Vitamins, including 50 µg of B12, in a convenient daily tablet.
