Wellbio Live Cultures FAQ

Why has Probiotis Live Cultures been developed?

Probiotis Live Cultures is an expertly formulated microbiotic formula (10 Billion CFU*) providing 7 strains of broad spectrum high quality live biocultures, including Lab4®, the group of gut bacteria with the most comprehensive research conducted in the UK

How are gut bacteria affected by the environment?

There are a number of components that can negatively affect gut bacteria including; smoking, high stress levels, antibiotics, diet and environmental toxins.

When is Probiotis Live Cultures recommended?

Probiotis Live Cultures is recommended as an everyday dietary support to provide live cultures.

Can Probiotis Live Cultures be used alongside medicines?

As a general rule, Probiotis Live Cultures can be taken alongside medications because it contains only live cultures and calcium. However, if you are already taking prescribed supplements or medications, seek advice from your doctor or health professional first.

Take at least two hours separately from a dose of antibiotics. The antibiotic may affect the live cultures if taken at the same time, hence the reason to take before or afterwards.

How many capsules does one pack of Probiotis Live Cultures contain?

Probiotis Live Cultures are available in 30 capsule packs (1 month’s supply). It is recommended to take one capsule per day with your main meal.

How and when should Probiotis Live Cultures be used?

Take one capsule a day with your main meal for ongoing support for your gut bacteria.

Are there any undesired effects whilst taking Probiotis Live Cultures?

Probiotis does not have any known side effects when taken as directed. It is thought that some people may experience mild and temporary bloating for a couple of days when first taking live cultures. Don’t worry, this should dissipate within a few days. Do not exceed the recommended tablet intake. In case of overdose, seek medical advice.

Is Probiotis Live Cultures suitable for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes Probiotis is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

What is the difference between Probiotis Live Cultures 10 Billion CFU and Probiotis Live Cultures Extra Strength 20 Billion CFU?

Can I take Probiotis Live Cultures with a digestive enzyme?

Yes Probiotis Live Cultures can be taken alongside Wellzyme Digestive Enzymes.

Does Probiotis require refrigeration?

Probiotis does not need to be refrigerated, as Triphase™ Stabilising Technology protects the level of live cultures for the life of the product therefore there is no need to keep Probiotis Live Cultures in the fridge.

Are Probiotis supplements suitable for children?

Probiotis is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old. Vitabiotics Wellkid Peppa Pig Pro-tummy soft jellies provide 5 billion cultures and calcium for young children aged 3-7 years.

Is it safe to take Probiotis long term?

Yes, Probiotis can be taken long-term.

Need help swallowing a tablet or capsule?

Difficulty in swallowing tablets and capsules is quite a common experience. Vitabiotics have researched this extensively and recommend after chewing some food (e.g. banana), just before you swallow, pop it into your mouth and swallow it together with the chewed food, followed by some liquid. The throat opens up wider to swallow the chewed food and so it should go down with greater ease. Alternatively, it may be swallowed with thicker liquids such as yoghurts or smoothies.

If I don’t want to swallow the capsule can I break the capsule and consume the powder?

Yes, the Probiotis capsules have been designed so the capsule can be pulled apart and the powder added to cold food or drink. Pull the capsule apart gently and sprinkle over the food/drink so as to minimise any accidental loss of the powder.
