Do you know one in six couples in the UK struggle to become parents? In the UK and worldwide one in six couples are affected to some extent by fertility problems. That's more than 3.5 million people in this country alone; much more than you'd think. Although you may not be one of the people who are directly affected, you probably will know someone who is, be they a family member, friend or colleague. This week is National Fertility Awareness Week, designed to raise awareness of the fertility issues people encounter when trying for a baby and support the #1in6 who need extra help to bring a child into the world. See how you can get involved here, there's lots of events including the annual cake bake. National Fertility Awareness WeekIt's run by Infertility Network UK, set up to raise awareness of fertility issues and support people who are affected. The network has details support avenues for those affected by fertility issues and a wealth of information including this conception tips fact sheet. Visitors to the site also have the chance to win a seven day Pregnacare Conception sample (stay tuned on TalkMum for a Pregnacare give away too). We're going to be posting about fertility over the next fortnight, from tips about what to do before you TTC, to natural fertility boosters and we'll also be sharing people's fertility journeys, so stay tuned.
