Are you pregnant? Catch-up with the latest instalment in our pregnancy and nutrition A-Z

When it comes to pregnancy and nutrition, what does the letter U stand for? So far in our series, we've looked at everything from A-T.

Make sure you catch-up on our pregnancy alphabet:  A / B/ C / D/ E / F / G / H / I / J / M / P / S / T

So short but sweet, it's over you U...

Underweight: Women who are severely underweight during pregnancy and who are not eating enough are more likely to have babies that are small and weak at birth, which can have serious long-term effects on their health.

Unpasteurised milk: Campylobacter is another common cause of food poisoning in the UK, which is commonly found in poultry and unpasteurised milk. Infections during pregnancy have been associated with premature birth, spontaneous abortion and stillbirths. Always ensure that any milk and cheeses consumed during pregnancy have been pasteurised.
