Regenerating Bio-Marine Collagen Complex (Cartidea™)
Bio-marine collagen is the most
abundant form of natural protein found in the body and it makes up the primary support structure of the skin. It gives skin strength and suppleness plus an inherent ability to retain moisture. After around 25 years of age, skin collagen starts to break down and skin loses about 1% of its elastic tissue each year. These changes are major factors in fine line and wrinkle formation.

The advanced Cartidea™ bio-
marine collagen complex contained in Perfectil^® Platinum provides specific marine proteoglycans, which studies have shown can help maintain skin thickness and protect against the damaging effects of photo ageing.

Bio-marine collagen is made up of amino acids, which are the key building blocks of skin collagen. Collagen proteins are unique in that they contain the two amino acids, hydoxyproline and hydroxylysine which are not found in any other proteins. Without adequate levels of these amino acids the body’s ability to repair collagen can be compromised. The marine collagen found in Perfectil^® Platinum provides specific marine proteoglycans, which studies have shown can help in maintaining skin thickness and protect against the damaging effects of photo ageing. Proteoglycans also influence the arrangement of collagen fibres and hence dermal strength.

Protective & refining antioxidants
The synergistic combination of antioxidant nutrients such as Alpha Lipoic Acid, grape seed, green tea and pine bark extract work together to help shield skin proteins from free radical damage, helping to keep skin firm and smooth.

Maintenance of healthy dermal circulation is important in ensuring that skin cells receive an adequate supply of oxygen and nutrients. Specific nutrients, called Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins Complexes (OPCs), present in grape seed extract and pine bark extract, can play an important role in helping to support a healthy blood flow by influencing the process involved in blood vessel relaxation. These nutrients also facilitate the production of the intracellular matrix that binds and fills the spaces between cells helping to maintain healthy and smooth looking skin.

Lycopene, the red carotenoid found in tomatoes, and other related carotenoids present in Perfectil^® Platinum have been shown in clinical studies to help protect against sun induced skin damage through their antioxidant activity.
