Gorilla Mum and Baby Keep Healthy with Vitabiotics Pregnacare Plus

Keepers at London Zoo have been giving Mjukuu the gorilla, the human vitamin supplement Vitabiotics Pregnacare Plus following the arrival of her first baby. Keepers decided Pregnacare would be ideal to keep mother and baby as healthy as they can, and since giving birth at the end of October, the 11-year-old western lowland gorilla has become quite the doting mother.
Keepers at ZSL London Zoo say the Gorilla Mjukuu is proving to be a fantastic mum to her five-week-old baby. A zoo spokesman said: “She is a protective mum, and keeps him cradled to her all the time – but she is often happy to give visitors a peek at her precious son.”
The benefits of taking omega-3 DHA during pregnancy have been well researched as the growing baby relies solely on supplies from the mother. DHA plays an essential role in the healthy development of the brain, nervous system and eyes in the foetus and newborn infant.
Keeper Teague Stubbington commented: “He is a very quiet and contented baby, which means Mjukuu is caring for him perfectly.”
