Safeguarding Nutrition in the 50s and Beyond
Goldcare® is a comprehensive formula of 22 nutrients and bioactive elements, specially formulated to safeguard nutrition in the over 50s. Research has shown that nutrition may play an important role in the progressive changes of body composition associated with ageing, such as changes in bone density and percentage body fat. Vitamins and minerals may also be important to maintaining a healthy immune system and resistance to infection, normal cognitive functioning, energy release and blood circulation.

Complete nutritional support
Goldcare® includes all the major vitamins and minerals and has been formulated using scientific research from the latest international trials. Each capsule includes antioxidants such as bioflavonoids, natural carotenoids and vitamins C and E, to defend against free radicals involved in ageing, along with iron, trace minerals and mixed B vitamins for complete nutritional support. It also provides Vitamin D3 which has been known to be vital across a range of areas in addition to bone health. The levels of each ingredient in Goldcare® have been individually determined and selected to provide optimum nutrition as we age.

Antioxidants and ageing
Free radicals are one of the main mechanisms of ageing which can damage the DNA of cells all over the body. Free radicals can also oxidise fatty acids in the bloodstream, so they may be implicated in heart health. Because antioxidants in Goldcare® like vitamins C, E, carotenoids and bioflavonoids can help 'mop up' free radicals, they are important to the maintenance of healthy cells, and the normal replication of cells in all the major organs. They may play a particularly important role in maintaining healthy and good vision, normal cognitive functioning and a healthy heart and circulation. Antioxidant enzyme co-factors including trace minerals such as copper, zinc, magnesium and selenium, may also play an important role in the maintenance of the immune system. All these nutrients are carefully balanced for optimum nutrition in Goldcare®.

Brain food
Vitamin B12, folic acid, and standardised Ginkgo Biloba may also help to maintain brain function, a special consideration for those who may be particularly interested in maintaining their powers of reasoning and memory as they age.

Supplementing in later life - why it's important

Large bodies of evidence suggest that the elderly may not be receiving adequate levels of nutrients for a number of reasons. 1. Limited physical exercise may result in a reduction of dietary intake in order to avoid excess weight gain;
2. Intestinal absorption of nutrients may be reduced in old age, resulting in lowered blood nutrient levels, even if intake is adequate;
3. The elderly may have a diminished appetite, especially when ill;
4. Poor dentition or difficulty in preparing meals can sometimes result in less than ideal intake of nutrient dense foods.
